Welcome to the Guest House “Gschwandtner”
The guest house “Gschwandtner” is located 1,400 meters above sea level at the foot of the "Mandlwände".
It is the ideal starting point for all your hiking excursions around the “Hochkönig” mountain range.
We offer 10 comfortable apartments for 2 to 4 people and a big apartment for 4 to 6 people, with a total of 34 beds
All apartments offer a kitchenette, shower & toilet, balcony, TV, sofa and bed-living room.
In the apartments for 3 or 4 people, there is an additional separate sleeping alcove with a single bed or bunk beds.
The big apartment has 2 bedrooms for 2 persons each, living / dining room with a sofa bed for an additional 2 persons and a sitting area.
TV, fully equipped kitchen and a separate shower and toilet are included.
Weekdays our baker will supply you with fresh bread & pastries and dairy products for your daily breakfast needs.
We also offer our guests a sauna, play- / table tennis room, playground, BBQ grill, patio & ample parking directly at the house.
Summer:
More than 340 km of hiking trails and climbing opportunities for all abilities await you around the “Hochkönig” mountain range from “Mühlbach” to “Dienten” and further on to “Maria Alm”.
On the many “Almen” (cultivated pastures & cottages), you will find quiet and relaxation.
Our own Alm (cottage), the “Windraucheggalm” can be reached by walking in about 20 minutes.
Here we offer you daily fresh donuts, homemade cheese, butter and bacon, and other local delicacies.
The entrance to the tour to the “Hochkönig” through the “Mittenfeldalm” is 1 km away from our guest house.
Winter:
Located right above the guest house is the “Grießfeld” lift, a pull lift ideal for children and beginners, from where you can reach the “Hochkeil” lifts and the cross-country trail.
With the free ski bus (bus stop about 50m from the house), you can easily reach the rest of the ski area.
You can start your winter walks or tobogganing parties (sleds are available at the house) right outside the front door.
